Tutors

Tutors provide personalized educational support to students of various ages, helping them improve their understanding of academic subjects, prepare for exams, and develop effective study habits.

Duties

1. For Younger Children (Ages 5-10)

◦ Focus on foundational subjects like reading, writing, and basic math.
◦ Engage students with interactive learning methods (games, visual aids).
◦ Assist with school assignments and reinforce classroom learning.
◦ Help develop early study habits and time management skills.

2. For Pre-Teens and Teenagers (Ages 11-18)

◦ Provide subject-specific tutoring (math, science, English, etc.).
◦ Assist with homework, projects, and exam preparation (including standardized tests like SAT, ACT).
◦ Teach study strategies and organizational skills.
◦ Support students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

3. For College Students

◦ Offer specialized tutoring in specific academic disciplines (e.g., calculus, biology, literature).
◦ Help with course-specific assignments, papers, and exam preparation.
◦ Provide guidance on research techniques and advanced study methods.
◦ Assist with preparation for college entrance exams or graduate school tests.

4. Bedrooms

◦ Making beds and changing linens if needed.
◦ Dusting surfaces.
◦ Vacuuming or sweeping floors.

5. General Tasks

◦ Emptying trash cans throughout the house.
◦ Cleaning windows and mirrors.
◦ Tidying up common areas.

These tasks can vary based on your specific needs and agreement you have with your house cleaner. If you have any special requests or additional tasks, it’s always a good idea to discuss them with your cleaner beforehand.

House cleaners typically charge a flat rate, as the scope of work is usually agreed upon in advance. However, if it better suits your needs, you also have the option to pay the cleaner on an hourly basis.

Pay

Younger Children (Ages 5-10)

Typically ranges from $20 to $40 per hour depending on the tutor's experience and the complexity of the subject matter.

Pre-Teens and Teenagers (Ages 11-18)

Ranges from $30 to $60 per hour, with higher rates for specialized subjects like advanced math or science.

College Students

Rates typically range from $40 to $80 per hour, depending on the tutor’s expertise in the subject and level of education.

Pay & Benefits: Hourly rates depending on subject expertise and experience.

Requirements: Relevant teaching or tutoring experience, educational background in the subject.
